Join us as we commit to round-the-clock prayer for our country leading up to the 2024 election. Sign up for a 30-minute slot between 5 p.m. on Monday and 5 p.m. on Tuesday. During your 30-minute slot, we encourage you to pray for our local community, our state, our country, and our world using the simple guidelines below. We have provided 2 spots for every time slot, but please sign up for open spots before doubling up.
Wherever you are, at work, at home or you could take a prayer walk, by signing up for a 30-minute spot, you will be a part of a larger effort of our Calvary family praying for 24 hours. On Tuesday we will have a dedicated room in Building 2 if you prefer to come to the church campus for your prayer time. This will only be open from 8 am - 5 pm on November 5.
These are a few tools if you would like some direction during your time of prayer.
PRAYING THROUGH THE NEWS
•Before your time slot, take a few minutes to look at the top news article on your phone or computer. While we are specifically praying for the election process, these headlines will help you know specifically what is happening. Take time to invite God’s light and presence to move in these situations. Ask Jesus to move and for His Kingdom to come and His will to be done.
PRAISE AND PETITION
•Every nation has things to thank God for and things to ask for His help with. As you pray, praise God for the good things that you know are happening in our nation, and ask for His help with the bad.
PRAYING FOR OUR GOVERNMENT
•Think about the role that government plays in our lives today. Pray that the kingdom of Jesus would be the foundation of law and leadership in our nation. Take some time to pray specifically for our leaders; not just our national leaders but our local and state leaders.
•Pray for God to guide our national leaders in justice and wisdom. Think through the different parts of our state and country and consider the people who live in each region. Think about the many churches spread throughout our city, state, and country. Think about our fellow Christians around the world. Ask the Holy Spirit to move in our nation and world.
ASK WHAT GOD WANTS FROM YOU
•As you pray, be still and listen to what God may be telling you about how He wants you to reflect His Son Jesus during these times. Ask and think about opportunities to be a light in the middle of so much division and darkness in our nation.
PRAY FOR CALVARY'S LIGHT IN OUR CITY
•Ask that God would lead our church in being a light in our city and to point to Jesus as the source of all Hope and Truth.
