Sleep in Heavenly Peace
All children deserve a safe, comfortable place to lay their heads. SHP has the goal of making and delivering free beds and bedding for kids to families in need. SHP is based on a chapter system, and they have had a chapter in Brookston and a few surrounding communities for several years and are now looking to expand that to the 47906 area code. SHP is a non-profit organization that runs with the help of volunteers who give their time to help make beds, donate bedding, and deliver beds.
Bedding Donations
Sleep in Heavenly Peace is always in need of donations of bedding such as blankets, pillows, sheets, mattress protectors, and comforters for kids twin sized beds. Bed in a Bag is great! Each bed given to a child from SHP also comes with a complete set of free bedding so that the bed is completely ready to go when it gets delivered.
On Sunday, February 1st, 2026, Calvary will have a SHP bed display set up in the lobby and we will be taking donations of bedding for twin size kid's beds to donate to SHP.
Delivery Teams
SHP is in need of people who are willing to delivery beds to families in need. SHP provides training for delivery teams, so they get a good understanding of the process. SHP also coordinates with delivery teams and their schedules; no delivery team will be asked to deliver a bed outside of their availabilities. This is a great way to provide practical needs while also getting to meet these families in need and share the love of Jesus when delivering beds.
