La Ruta
La Ruta (meaning ‘The Way’) is a campus ministry in Montevideo, Uruguay established in 2015. This ministry has the goal of helping students in Montevideo learn more about Jesus and develop a relationship with Him. It also provides a strong faith community for many that do not have a faith community. La Ruta has many events including a weekly Alpha study for new believers, English class, fun fellowship events like Christmas in June, and more!
Meet Sophie
Sophie grew up going to Calvary. When she was in college, she felt a strong call from the Lord leading her into missions. After a summer internship at La Ruta in Uruguay in 2023, Sophie developed a deep love for the country and people of Uruguay. In March 2025, Sophie moved to Montevideo, Uruguay and is now on staff at La Ruta.

Montevideo
Montevideo is located on the north shore of the RÃo de la Plata estuary and is the capital city of Uruguay. The average Christian church in Montevideo usually consists of about 10-20 people. Many people in Montevideo are interested in Spirituality but have difficulty committing to one faith.
